CLASSIC COURSE //
Teams that reach all TAs (Transition Areas) before the cut-off
times, and are not disqualified for any reason, will be allowed
to compete on the full 475km course, as detailed on the course
page.
ADVENTURE COURSE //
Teams that do not reach Gloria Vale (TA6/CP22) by 0830 on Thursday (18th Nov) will compete on a shorter course. This course sees teams Mtn Bike all the way to Taramakau (TA 8/CP27) rather than do the Mtn Trek (TA 7/CP26 to TA 8). This may be a blessing in disguise.
UNRANKED //
Teams that receive assistance to reach the next TA (e.g. are driven), or skip a checkpoint will become unranked. Unranked teams are permitted to continue on one of the shortened courses, but will not receive a rank relative to any other unranked teams or teams competing on short or full courses.
MEDICAL //
Team member(s) have suffered an injury and have decided to continue or withdraw for this reason.
WITHDRAWN //
Team member(s) have decided to withdraw for some reason.
DISQUALIFIED //
Teams that behave unfairly, use unauthorised equipment (eg Night
Vision), abandon team members, fail to assist teams in danger,
use (illegal) performance enhancing drugs, use their help beacons
for minor reasons, use unauthorised means of transport, or receive
intervening medical attention, will be disqualified and will
not be allowed to continue on any form of course.
